Grandma's Apple Torte

This delicious Apple Torte Cake was one of Grandma’s many treats that our family has enjoyed through the years. We always looked foreword to Grandma making this delightful morsel for special family gathering and holidays. Many of our guests ask for the recipe and I am always happy to share it with everyone.

Ingredients

3 eggs
1 ¾ cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 cup oil
4 apples (tart or a variety)
½ cup nuts (optional)

Directions

Mix eggs and sugar. Add dry ingredients & vanilla. Add oil. Fold into batter 4 apples sliced thin (Grandma used tart and I use a variety). Add nuts if desired. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 baking pan. Pour batter into pan. Bake on 350° for about one hour.

Tips and Variations

You can feel comfortable adding any fruit or different nuts to change this tasty treat.
