The Ultimate Quiche
- One pound bacon, cut into small pieces.
- 1 sheet puff pastry from a frozen package,
thawed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 - 10 oz. containers cream (fraiche) 2 1/2
cups
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg.
- 1 cup coarsely grated Gruyere
Preheat oven to 375 , cook bacon until crisp then
drain.
Roll out puff pastry on to lightly floured
surface Roll into large square. Fit pastry into quiche pan or dish,
then
trim. Wisk eggs in a medium bowl , then whisk in
cream, salt, and nutmeg. Four filling into pastry shell . Sprinkle with
bacon and Gruyere. Bake Quiche until center is set
about
45 minutes to one hour. Cool to room temperature and
enjoy..
